Applecross Community Company
Posted by admin on January 10th, 2009 filed in Community
In the face of unreliable fuel supplies during 2007/2008 and no apparent resolution forthcoming the community formed a company registered under the land reform act and limited by guarantee with the initial aim of restoring reliable road fuel supplies to Applecross not only for our benefit but also for the benefit of emergency services and visitors. We also have medium and long term aims based around sustainable resources present on the peninsula.
The fundamental philosophy being sensitive sustainable growth and development for the benefit of the community and our visitors.

The company is comprised of members who support the aims, have a vote in all company matters, agree to a limited guarantee liability of one pound and are on the Applecross electoral roll. A small board of directors is elected annually at a general meeting. All posts are voluntary…there is no payment to directors.
There has been such a high degree of interest and support for our company expressed by visitors that we have established a friends roll. A friend of the company simply registers with us at no cost and no liability. We will send regular newsletters (via e-mail preferably) to update friends on what is happening in Applecross. We benefit by being able to demonstrate high levels of support for our projects to grant funding bodies; by having a database of individuals whose skills we may tap into and in the event of a major fund raising project somewhere to send polite begging letters.

If you wish to become a friend of the company forms are available on line ,via the Campsite, Inn, Walled garden or from Chris Ward 11-12 Shore Street Applecross.
We are fortunate to live in a beautiful place and encourage visitors to share it with us. Your support is vital either as a friend or simply remembering to buy road fuel from our filling station when you visit us.

You say it’s possible to becomea friend of Applecross Community Company by filling in a form online. Where would I find this online form, please? I don’t see a link to it on your website.
